A Bench in the Sun
AUDITIONS:
Sunday, December 15 at 6:00 pm at
Elizabeth O’Rear Skanta Theatre
Frankfort Community Public Library
There are only 3 roles - 2 men and 1 woman so everyone will have lots of lines.
All three people are residents at a retirement home.
Burt is a true pessimist who considers himself a realist. Clothing matters nothing to him.
Harold is a meticulous dresser. He uses a cane and is a guarded optimist.
Adrienne - is an ex-actress who still manages to be a bit of a flirt. Adrienne believes in the goodness of people and most everything else.
Harold and Burt, longtime friends, live in a retirement home and spend their days bickering on a bench in the garden. A once-famous actress has just moved in, giving them something new to argue over. When they learn that the home is about to be sold and they will have to find a new residence, the three join forces to prevent this upsetting development.
Carol's vision for this play:
Very funny, with charming "characters" that the audience loves and end up having a real concern for as the play builds. Think Grumpy Old Men (one cleaned up a bit) and Ann Margaret. If you take a script: add your name and the script number please:
